nah, i only tried the live-images in Hyper-V. the more recent releases seem to run fine in there. except for the network adapter, Hyper-V has two and neither seems to work. oh and no audio yet. other than that, it sadly doesn't come with many applications packaged. even tho there seem to be some available. since you don't seem to hate command lines as much as i do, you may have more fun with it then i had. i heard the ion shell isn't bad, but most of the command line utilities are pretty bare bones (such as not having an -h option). but i think it's worth giving it a look. if you got a real machine to spare, i would try it on there, otherwise virtual ones should work.
