Public reaction has been overwhelmingly positive in both Norway and Finland, with the only objection so far coming from the indigenous Sami community, whose reindeer roam freely across the border and who argue that the land should belong to neither country.

well, maybe not pretty decent. but decent nontheless. :P

2 gigs of ram isn't really enough, but the atom does most of my non-gaming needs.. also the pink version was about half the price (~250€) for some reason but i would have taken it anyway. XD

well, his ideas at least seem to work better in his times (as i imagine it).

but the things that seem wrong to me seem pretty fundamental, at least to what marxists tend to say.

besides class struggle which i think i have said enough about there is also this weird personification of capital, which doesn't seem to make any sense. like, who it it? the bosses? the machines? the money? the market? whose interests does it reflect? does it want monopoly or polypoly? authoritarian companies or uncontrollable self organized collectives?and whose action does "the capital" influence?

to me it seems like the marxist version of the devil: it's behind pretty much everything, particularly the things one doesn't like, and it's pretty much malevolent and cannot be used for good (anymore?).

There was some effort to establish some kind of class peace after WWI.

that seems like something i'm pretty much unaware of. i suck at history, but i'd like to know more. ^^

it's a diy ring flash.

Ring flashes are also very popular in portrait and fashion photography. In addition to softening shadows and creating circular highlights in the model's eyes, the unique way that a ring flash renders light gives the model a shadowy halo that is a common feature of fashion photography.

wikipedia says, i personally find these white rings in the eyes kinda creepy looking.

and while it softens the shadow, the light source is still very frontal, and i'm not a huge fan of this effect either. what i would like is the individual sectors of the ring flash to light up separately while the camera takes a series of images that contain more information than a singe 2d image. for example to feed it to a neural net to imagine new lighting conditions.
